[ Once he finishes sending that text message, Leon will drop whatever he's doing and practically zooms over to the location that she sent him, not wanting to waste even a single second. Lately, he feels as though he has let her down as her boyfriend. He's lashed out at her and said so many callous things. As he reflects on his past actions, he feels even more terrible at what he said to her over the network.

So as soon as he sees her in person, he doesn't hesitate to run over to where she is and pull her into his most loving and warm embrace he's ever given her. It might be a bit hard to notice, but his eyes were watering and he was on the verge of tearing up. ]

Mio... Mio.

[ He's so overwhelmed with emotions that he doesn't even know where to begin. The only thing he can do is repeat her name over and over again in his most regretful tone of voice.

One of his hands moves up so he can stroke the top of her head, he wanted to do everything he can to bring her comfort and make up for the terrible things he's said. ]

I'm so sorry, I've been such a horrible boyfriend.

[He says that he promises but she's not sure if she can believe that. Even though she knows that she should, there's the niggling part of her that screams out that she shouldn't and it kind of terrifies her. That she's doubting herself, that she's slowly becoming distrustful.

But when he pulls her into his embrace, she can't help but calm down a bit.

She's fine.

She'll be fine, she tells herself. But even so close like this, she can feel herself tremble even though she's trying to keep herself calm. But somehow, she can't cry. Like the tears just can't come out.

When he strokes her head though, she flinches away a bit, almost surprisingly.]

Ah... no, it's fine. I should be the one apologizing.

[ When he notices her flinching away from his touch, he's surprised. He's always taken pleasure at giving Mio headpats whenever he can, especially knowing that it's her weakness. So when she nearly pulls away, he's both shocked and... kind of hurt by it.

Of course, he knows that it's not her fault. The one that's responsible for everything going wrong are the people in charge of this application. It's because of them, he can't have a peaceful moment with Mio.

All he wants is to be happy with her and not worry about anything. Why are they making things so difficult for them? ]

There's no need for that, Mio. It's not your fault. [ His hand moves away from her head, sliding down to cup the side of her face, stroking her cheek with his thumb. ] ... Is it the disease you were telling me about?

[Quiet for a few moments, she shakes her head, closing her eyes to simply focus on his voice and nothing else. But it's difficult to concentrate when you're dealing with loud sounds drumming in her head as she can't say anything immediately and instead just simply nods at his words.]

It's hard to hear you, Leon...

[ What she says next completely catches him off guard and honestly, he's not even sure how to react he's so shocked. It made him realize that there was a lot more to this syndrome than what she initially told him. ]

What's wrong? Why... can't you hear me?

You... can't hear it, can you? There's a loud noise. It sounds like loud stomping.

[And it's ridiculously loud and annoying to the point where she has to cover her ears.]

[ He feels so incredibly bad because he can't hear anything. Not only that, he's even more worried about her condition. He hates that he can't bring any sort of reassurance. ]

... I'm sorry but I don't hear anything.

[ Seeing her cover her ears only confirms that and it breaks his heart. In an attempt to put her at ease, he threads his fingers through her hair. ]

Do you want to go somewhere else that's more private? Will it help?

[So she's right. She's slowly going crazy and the confirmation of him telling her that he doesn't hear anything absolutely terrifies her. Maybe on a normal day it would be more reassuring if he ran fingers through her hair. But today? It just... she's never felt more unsure.

So she shakes her head.]

I don't know. Maybe.

[ He feels so bad for admitting that. The last thing he wanted was to scare her even more and make her feel as though she's crazy. Leon's dislike for Retrospec continues to grow but worst of all, he's becoming more angry at himself. He feels like he hasn't done a damn thing to help her out. ]

Let me take you to a private hotel room, then. We'll be alone and I'll do whatever I can do block out that noise.

I'm sorry I'm being such a hassle...

[She sounds a little regretful as those words slip out, her eyes completely lowered onto the floor.]

Don't say that. You aren't a hassle. I want to be there for you.

[ And he means it. He's determined to do whatever he can in order to take care of her. It's the least he can do as her boyfriend. He feels as though he's let her down so much but that wasn't going to happen anymore.

Not wanting to waste anymore time, Leon immediately drives her to the usual hotel and manages to get the room they stayed in last time. Once they are settled in after taking their shoes off, he gently leads her to the bed and after he lays down, he brings her down with him, letting her lay on top of him as he runs his fingers through her hair. ]

... can you hear my heartbeat, Mio?

[She's quiet for quite a while. Not just because she feels guilty to the point where she feels like everything she's done is completely selfish and is all about her own needs instead of...

It frustrates her.

When he leads her to the hotel they usually stay at, she can't help but be caught up in his pace. Then again, it's kind of difficult to when your ears are practically ringing from sounds that aren't actually there.

He brings her in close on the bed as she can't help but turn a bright red as he combs his fingers through her hair. And while normally it should be a comfort, here it's anything but, strangely enough. She tries to take deep breaths in hopes that maybe, just maybe it would ease things up a bit.

And they do, at least. They're all alone. She shouldn't be hearing anything else.]

I... [Breathe.] I can. I know it's for my sake, but it's kind of embarrassing when you ask that. You're being really unfair, though. You're always doing things for me when I can't do anything for you in return.

[She earnestly wants to do something for him. And maybe when things get back to some semblance of normal, she can. Mio would like to hope so, anyway.

But even then, there's something in the back of her mind that's screaming in fear even as she tries to keep up a calm demeanor. Like there's something wrong with this picture. Or maybe it's just that her mind keeps bringing itself back to the times when he's gotten angry at her and she's scared of seeing that on him again.

Because she's very much aware of what's happening to her.]

[ Honestly, if anyone deserves to feel guilty it's him. Flashbacks of yelling at her keep running through his mind and every time he thinks about his actions, it eats him up inside. For once in his life, he doesn't feel high on his own ego and feels like a legitimately awful person.

Truthfully, he feels like no amount of pampering or comfort will ever make up for losing his temper at her. ]

Lately, I feel like I've been a terrible boyfriend and that I've let you down so many times. So don't worry about doing something in return for me. I just want to do whatever I can for you.

[ So from the bottom of his heart, he feels as though he doesn't deserve anything from her.

He ends up taking in a deep breath as his heart continues to pound inside of chest. Despite the negative thoughts swirling through his mind, he still can't hide how nervous he gets whenever she's close to him.

Still, he does worry that his touch might be scaring her. Mio's reaction from earlier was still burned into his mind but even with that, he can't help but continue to run his fingers through her hair. He enjoys touching her as much as stroking his own locks. ]

You're not a terrible boyfriend.

[She tries to smile, a rather small one as she places one of her hands on the side of his cheek in an attempt to reassure him, shaking her head. Even if he tells her that she shouldn't worry and that he should just do whatever he wants for her, she... can't just be selfish like this all the time.]

I just don't feel like I've been an adequate girlfriend for you.

[And now she's tearing up, surprisingly enough.]

It's not fair if you're always doing things for me, Leon. You spoil me too much.

[She can't stop the tears from streaming and her heart twists because honestly? Mio doesn't feel like she earnestly doesn't deserve him. That she doesn't deserve to be happy like this.

For the longest of times, she contemplates her life.

Maybe all of this happening to her personally is her punishment. Punishment for being so selfish. For not wanting to take over the company. For seeking her own happiness instead of caring about others. But being with Leon, she wants to be a better person for him.

She wants to make him happy. She wants to make other people happy, not just herself. To do something that isn't just for herself.]

Please let me do things for you. ... I want to.

[ Though he should feel relieved upon hearing those words, he somehow feels even more guilty. He full well knows that he has needlessly lashed out at her and it still eats away at his heart. But he does feel a sense of comfort as her soft hand touching his cheek. In response, he places his on hand on top of hers. ]

That's not true, Mio. You're perfect in my eyes.

[ As soon as he sees her tears, he immediately places his other free hand on her cheek, wiping the tears away with his thumb. It hurts him to see her suffering like this. If he could make a wish that could come true, he wants nothing more than to shoulder her pain and do everything to bring her happiness. ]

I love you and nothing will ever change that. I spoil you because I want to. The only thing I desire is to make you happy.

[ Honestly, he wants to cry as well. His heart couldn't take watching her sorrows, but he's doing his best to remain strong for her sake. A soft smile begins to form on his lips as he stares at her with the most loving expression imaginable. This smile was reserved for Mio's eyes only.

They were in their own little world but if someone else happened to be here, then they would instantly know just from Leon's face that he loved this girl more than anyone else in the world. ]

If that's what you truly want to do, then I'm not going to stop you. My Usamio...

"Perfect", huh...

[She doesn't think so. There's no way that she's perfect, even though she appreciates that he thinks so. It honestly means the world to her that he cares so much; more than anyone ever has in the seventeen years she's lived in this life, and any of the years that she's lived as 'Shion', too.

And it's enough to make her heart melt, especially when she sees that smile of his. One that warms her heart because she knows better than anyone else that this is something that only she's allowed to see.]

Then... I'll do just that for you, Leon-sama.

[If he's going to call her Usamio, she's going to refer to him like this, then, to return the favor.]

[ Even if she may not think so, it doesn't change the fact he will always believe her to be perfect in his eyes. He loves her so much and there isn't a single thing he would change about her. It's come to the point where the only thing he desires is to spend the rest of his life with her. ]

You just had to use my weakness...

[ A blush begins to color his cheeks and he's happy to hear those words. Being called Leon-sama is a major weakness of his and he practically melts anytime she does.

While still cupping her cheek, he leans in for a soft kiss. It may be more gentler than his usual kisses, but it's filled with nothing but his most sincere and passionate love for her. ]

[Of course she had to. Because she knows that he gives her the best reactions whenever she does say it because she knows just how weak he is to her calling him that. But he then kisses her in that gentle way of his and she can't help but feel herself melt in his kiss before she pulls away from him to speak, still keeping her voice low and breathy.]
